2020 Journal of Social and Behavioral Scientists Paper Development Workshop
The Journal of Social and Behavioral Sciences Paper Development Workshop (JSBS-PDW) will be held Wed., March 4, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Organized by Dr. Doreen B. Hilton (Fayetteville State University), the 2020 JSBS-PDW will be facilitated by JSBS editors, editors of other scholarly journals, editorial board members, and other experienced scholars.
The purpose of the JSBS-PDW is to provide scholars with developmental feedback on their current research projects to enhance the potential of the manuscripts for publication in JSBS.
Participation in the PDW:
Participation in the PDW will be limited to 12 participants.
Those who wish to participate in the workshop should submit an extended abstract (between 10 and 25 pages of text) by January 13, 2020. Abstracts and manuscripts should be submitted as Microsoft Word documents to firstname.lastname@example.org. Each author should indicate his/her name, e-mail address, and affiliation on the cover page of the manuscript.
The abstract should provide a synopsis of the research question, its relevance and significance, a statement relating to the ability of extant concepts and/or theories to provide a coherent response to the research question, the empirical approach, and the implications of the findings for future theorizing about the subject.
Participants will be selected based on the quality of their submitted work and will be notified about the acceptance of their submissions no later than January 24, 2020.
If selected, authors agree to have their papers discussed in a small group with other participants, as arranged by the workshop facilitators. Authors also agree to provide a short, 5-minute overview of their papers to others in roundtable group.
Participants will be required to confirm their participation by February 7, 2020 (the early registration deadline for the conference).
Preconference workshop registration fee is $100.
All participants must register for the ASBS 2019 Conference before they confirm their attendance at the JSBS-PDW.
